Ten of Wands: Tarot Card Meaning

The Ten of Wands is about burden, responsibility and carrying more than you should. In the Rider-Waite-Smith deck a figure bends under a large bundle of ten wands, walking toward a small village in the distance. He cannot see where he is going because of the load. The village, and rest, are close, but he has taken on too much.
Upright meaning
Upright, the Ten of Wands shows that you are overloaded. Responsibilities, obligations and projects are piling up, and you may feel you have to do everything yourself. Ask which of these loads are truly yours. Delegate, drop what you can and ask for help. The goal is nearly in sight, but you will arrive in better shape if you lighten the weight.
Reversed meaning
Reversed, you are ready to set down a burden, or you are already collapsing under it. It can mean finally delegating, or refusing to admit that you cannot carry everything. Release what is not your responsibility, and be honest with yourself and others about your limits.
In love
In love, the Ten of Wands suggests a relationship in which one person carries too much of the emotional or practical load. Talk about sharing it. Reversed, it points to releasing a burden together or feeling crushed by obligation.
In career
At work, it points to overwork, too many responsibilities and the need to delegate. Reversed, it warns of burnout, or suggests the relief of letting a heavy task go.
As a yes or no answer
As a yes or no answer, the Ten of Wands leans no, because you are already carrying too much and taking more on will not help. Reversed, it is also a no until you lighten your load.
Advice from this card
Write down everything you are carrying and mark what belongs to someone else. Hand one item back or ask for help this week.
